Things turn out best...
April 2, 2010

"Things turn out best for the people who make the best out of the way things turn out." - Art Linkletter

Mission work is full of surprises, unexpected situations and challenging obstacles.  Yet, the result is always predictable when God is glorified and the gospel is clearly and directly presented.  God has His way with both the missionary and those touched by the missionary.  Below are some lessons that must be learned and re-learned when serving the Almighty God.

-Learn to be led by the One we are serving and adapt our priorities to meet His

-Learn how to cheerfully change your plans when unexpected conditions require it

-Do not be discouraged when faced with unexpected challenges.  God has already prepared a way to overcome them in a way that will glorify Him

God said,

10 I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say: My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please. 11 From the east I summon a bird of prey; from a far-off land, a man to fulfill my purpose. What I have said, that will I bring about; what I have planned, that will I do. (Isaiah 46:10-11 NIV)

Missions is about following God's lead and trusting Him with the result.

Two More Missions Completed in Managua

Using puppets and exciting music and our fast paced Practically Speaking Children's English program we  are able to share the gospel with hundreds of children and parents.  The Practically Speaking English curriculum for teens and adults lead our students into relationships with their teachers and provides the platform for us to present testimonies and the gospel.

The spring break trip took our team of 12 to Hermón Baptist Church in Managua. There we provided our Practically Speaking English program to 180+ children, 50+ teens and 100+ adults.  We also visited three elementary schools where we presented our Practically Speaking Children's English to more than 1400 children and dozens of adult teachers. Pastor Armando Palacios and his church leaders were excellent hosts to us and to our students.  At the Saturday Celebration event more 300 attended and 10 or so adults responded to the gospel in addition to the 69 teens and adults that responded during the course.

As the Hermón team was leaving Nicaragua, the next team was arriving.  This team of 10 served at Canaan Baptist Church where Pastor Everst Rojas was our host.  We were disappointed in the student registration attendance on the first Sunday, but there were plenty of teens and children arriving on Monday and Tuesday.  We ended up registering more than 300 children, 160 teens and 60 adults.  Sunday Celebration was attended by about 250.  Several more adults and teens responded to the gospel which added to the 90 that responded during the course.
